On the 312th kilometer of the Baku–Gazakh highway, in the territory of Goranboy district, Turkish citizen Taha Ali Şimşek, born in 2002, driving a "Mercedes" brand truck, lost control, first crashed into obstacles located in the middle of the road, and then entered a non-residential object.
Modern.az reports that in the circulated footage, two cars moving on the opposite road during the accident are seen narrowly avoiding the tragedy at the last moment.
One of those cars belonged to the well-known pediatrician Günay Rəsulova.
Regarding what happened, she wrote the following on social media:
"I was behind the wheel during the incident. My sister was also with me. Fortunately, both of us had our seatbelts fastened. At that moment, I thought I had to avoid colliding with other cars. To avoid hitting the rear of the truck, I turned right and pressed the brake suddenly. The car's system also helped. Fortunately, neither the car nor we sustained any injuries. The empty road behind us was also a stroke of luck".
