The Chamber of Accounts has issued a criticism to the Ministry of Finance regarding the use of the free balance of the single treasury account.
According to Modern.az, this was stated in the Chamber's report on the execution of the state budget for the first half of 2025.
It was noted that in the corresponding period of 2025, 1 billion 395.4 million manats were allocated from the free balance of the single treasury account for the reduction of domestic debt. However, the Law “On the Budget System” does not envisage the allocation of funds from the free balance for the reduction of domestic debt.
The Chamber emphasized that this step was implemented despite not being enshrined in legislation, and it is important to eliminate such cases in the future to ensure budget discipline.
