One of the brightest examples of national will and political struggle for freedom in the history of the Turkic world is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Despite facing international isolation, double standards, and unjust sanctions for a long time, the struggle initiated under the leadership of Dr. Fazil Küçük and Rauf Denktaş demonstrated that the identity and national statehood ideology of the Turkish Cypriots are unshakeable. Subsequently, leaders such as Mehmet Ali Talat, Derviş Eroğlu, and Mustafa Akıncı, who served in the country's leadership, each successfully continued the political-diplomatic struggle for the national existence of the Turkish Cypriots in the face of the challenges of their respective eras.
As a continuation of this historical will, today Mr. Ersin Tatar is carrying the just struggle of the Turkish Cypriots to a new stage with his courageous stance, unwavering resolve, and determined policy. Mr. Tatar not only represents Northern Cyprus in the international arena but also continuously strengthens the position of the Turkish Cypriots on social-political and cultural-spiritual levels. During Ersin Tatar's leadership, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has become not only the state of the island's Turks but also a symbol of the common cause of the entire Turkic world.
In this struggle, Azerbaijan has always declared to the whole world that it stands by the Turkish Cypriots. President Ilham Aliyev's open defense of the rights of our Northern Cypriot brothers and his demand for the recognition of the TRNC from international tribunals is a fraternal support that instills great confidence in the Turkish Cypriots.
Mr. Ersin Tatar's participation in the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Shusha and the waving of the TRNC flag alongside the flags of brotherly Turkic states was a brilliant triumph of this brotherhood, unity, and solidarity. This event showed the world that the Turkish Cypriots are not alone, but an important part of the Great Turkic family.
Today, our TRNC President, Mr. Ersin Tatar, turns 65.
At the 65-year pinnacle of a life entirely dedicated to the freedom and progress of the Homeland, Ersin Tatar is a Leader who unites the Turkic world around a single political will, symbolizing the decades-long struggle of the Turkish Cypriots. Northern Cyprus's past struggle, its present resistance, and its faith in the future are experiencing their strongest period in the person of Ersin Tatar.
I am confident that with the will of Mr. Ersin Tatar and the joint support of brotherly Turkey and Azerbaijan, the just voice of our Cypriot brothers will be heard increasingly louder on a global scale.
I wish the brotherly Turkish Cypriot people the brightest victories in their struggle for freedom and independence. To Mr. Ersin Tatar, I wish continuous success in his struggle for this magnificent victory and in his tireless activities for the progress of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus!
