A disturbance occurred at the lavish banquet held at Windsor Castle in honor of U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania's state visit to Great Britain, but not for the guests.
Modern.az reports that, according to “The Daily Mail”, tension arose behind the scenes between royal chefs and U.S. Secret Service personnel.
The publication's sources claim that several Secret Service agents entered the kitchen to supervise the preparation of meals, even occasionally taking samples from the dishes, which irritated the staff. As a result, a heated argument with raised voices ensued from both sides.
Palace officials emphasized that relations with their American counterparts were warm and supportive, calling these reports "categorically false".
The banquet itself featured a menu of exquisite dishes: pannacotta with Hampshire watercress and quail egg salad, organic Norfolk chicken in fragrant sauce with pumpkin, and vanilla ice cream with raspberry syrup and baked plums. Guests were served fine wines and special drinks, including a Transatlantic Whiskey Sour cocktail mixed with marmalade, walnut foam, and toasted marshmallow.
Guests, including King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate, enjoyed the evening and, according to video footage, got along well with the Trumps, unaware of the tension in the kitchen.
