On September 23, at 23:52, the police received information about gunshots being heard in the section of the Yerevan highway passing through the territory of Merdzavan village, Armavir province.

Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia released information about this.

According to preliminary information, two people died, and one person was injured. One of the deceased is Volodya Grigoryan, the opposition leader of the Parakar community.

According to information provided to journalists by Narek Sargsyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the second person killed in the shootout is Karen Abramyan, a senior lieutenant and an employee of the criminal police.

According to him, the police officer was on duty at the time of the murder. He was a friend of Volodya Grigoryan, the head of the Parakar community, and was with him at the time of the murder.

The police are taking measures to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
