The detention period of Shahin Shikhlinksi, the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg, has been extended.
Modern.az reports that a pre-trial detention measure has been imposed against him until December 30, 2025.
It should be recalled that last month, Moscow's Basmanny Court arrested in absentia Shahin Shikhlinksi, the head of the public organization "Azerbaijan-Ural" and the Azerbaijani diaspora in Yekaterinburg. He voluntarily surrendered in Moscow and was taken from there to Yekaterinburg.
Local media reports that a criminal case has been initiated against Shahin Shikhlinksi under two articles of the Russian Criminal Code.
He is wanted under Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code (use of violence against a government representative) and Part 2 of Article 105 (premeditated murder).
