They are not in the political arena, but in many cases, they are in the spotlight. When their fathers or mothers come to the forefront in crucial issues of the country, they themselves also fall into the public's interest. We are talking about the children of politicians: who are they, what do they do, how has their parents' influence affected their life path?..

Some time after the chairman of the Justice Party, Ilyas Ismayilov, passed away in February of this year, his deputy Mütəllim Rəhimli took the helm of the political organization.

Mütəllim Rəhimli has been in the political arena for many years. The current chairman of the Justice Party, always distinguished by his activity, is one of the politicians accessible to the press.

Mütəllim Rəhimli attracts interest not only with his political activity but also with his personal life. The family life of public and political figures in the public eye, especially the fate and activities of their children, periodically come into the focus of media and public attention.

This time, the Modern.az website, in its section “Children of Politicians,” discusses the children of Mütəllim Rəhimli.

In this article, we have attempted to provide information about Mütəllim Rəhimli's children's education, activities, and contributions to society. Our goal is to present a realistic and objective picture within the framework of respecting personal privacy while also satisfying public interest.

Mütəllim Rəhimli has two sons. His elder son, Rəmzi, was born in 2004, and his younger son, Fəxri, was born in 2008.

Both of the politician's children are currently students.

"My elder son, Rəmzi, is studying marketing in English at the University of Architecture and Construction. My younger son, Fəxri, started studying management at Ömer Halisdemir University in Turkey this year. My guidance influenced Rəmzi's progression to the second year and his study in English. He can speak Azerbaijani, Russian, and English fluently. My younger son, Fəxri, knows Russian and English to a certain extent, but these skills are not at a high level. This year, he will probably further improve those languages," the politician said.

The party chairman also spoke about his children's interest in politics, noting that his younger son is more inclined towards politics:

"Fate has brought it about that since they opened their eyes, they have seen me in politics, followed my activities, listened to my speeches on television, and read my articles in the press. When the time comes, they tell me what they like and what they don't. They have never shared my speeches on social media. They came to the Justice Party's congress. They had a good impression. It was their first time participating in such a political event. As for their inclination towards politics, they naturally engage in certain discussions. They ask for my opinions. Before I express my thoughts, they state their own ideas, saying that it would be better if it were this way. This stems from their desire to build confidence in themselves because they can think correctly. Politics is an inseparable part of our family's daily life.

My sons are not members of any political party. Fəxri is not yet 18 years old. Rəmzi, however, is already of age. I should note that Fəxri is more inclined towards politics. He even aspires to hold a position in the party. He is active and proactive. He is not fond of publicity either. Everything depends on him. One can guide someone towards politics, but one cannot make them a politician. As with every Azerbaijani citizen, the doors of the Justice Party are open to them. I have never forced them into anything.

One famous person has a saying: if you don't engage in politics, politics will engage with you. A very negative image has been created about opposition political parties in Azerbaijan. They have been presented as disreputable people in society. The blame for this has always been placed on the government. However, one must also look at oneself. Perhaps one-sided blame would not be fair. I have always thought this way. Government-opposition relations had reached a level of enmity. After 2020, a dialogue emerged between the government and the opposition, and there is understanding in relations. From this perspective, I believe that engaging in politics is not a fault. I would recommend my children to become politicians. If they intend to assert themselves and see their future in this direction, then, of course, I would advise them to become politicians.”

The party chairman also stated that he is not entirely satisfied with his children:

“If I were completely satisfied with my children and they did not contradict me, they would not have developed. There are many points where I am dissatisfied with them. They also do not accept many of my actions. The law of negation of negation is the fundamental law of dialectics. If we want to develop, this law must be reflected in society and everywhere. There are many points where they contradict me and where I do not accept their views. But this is not at an irreconcilable point. The contradiction is, in a way, at a point of reconciliation. I believe their being this way shows the dynamic of development. If they approved all my actions, I would look at myself with great doubt. And if I were completely dissatisfied with them, I would inwardly think that there is something lacking here. Confucius has the idea that "a father should be a father, and a son should be a son." This function, of course, must be maintained. Because then there is stability in the family and in society. But a child should not entirely fulfill what the father says. It's not about him not obeying his father. I cannot see entirely in my children what I have instilled in myself. They are already the youth of the modern era. There are too many irreconcilable points between them and us.

Impulsiveness and quick decision-making are characteristics inherent to all young people. We differ from each other even in our views on events and our attitudes towards modern technological tools. We prefer written press and books more. They prefer either listening to it or reading it electronically. Moreover, there is a difference in thinking. Their views on society are different. I see that values have already changed in the new generation. We had a stronger attachment to national-moral and ethical values. In the current generation, this does not carry as much importance. There is a very big change. Even if we condemn this, they portray it as innovation.”
