The next summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Turkmenistan on October 9, 2026.
Modern.az reports that CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev announced this at the expanded meeting of the summit.
This decision was adopted during the closed part of the meeting where key organizational issues were discussed: "The heads of delegations have decided that Turkmenistan will chair the Commonwealth in 2026, with co-chairmanship held by the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan", - Lebedev said at the meeting.
It should be noted that the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States is being held in Dushanbe.
