Ramiz Mehdiyev's membership issue in the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) will be considered.
Modern.az reports that ANAS President, academician Isa Habibbayli stated this in a statement to journalists.
According to him, the issue will be discussed after the court decision.
It should be noted that Ramiz Mehdiyev holds the title of academician. He was elected a full member of ANAS in 2007.
The title of academician is conferred upon full members of the National Academy of Sciences in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Ramiz Mehdiyev has been brought to criminal responsibility, and a preventive measure of 4 months house arrest has been chosen against him.
In the Main Investigation Department of the State Security Service (SSS), charges of treason (Article 274 of the Criminal Code), forcible seizure or retention of power (Article 278), and legalization of criminally obtained funds (Article 193-1) have been brought against Mehdiyev.
