An indictment has been filed against Irakli Garibashvili, former Prime Minister of Georgia.
Modern.az reports that this was announced by Georgia's Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze at a briefing.
According to him, Garibashvili is specifically accused of legalizing large amounts of income.
It should be noted that Garibashvili was interrogated on October 22 at the Anti-Corruption Department of Georgia's State Security Service. He admitted to obtaining illegal income over the years. During recent searches conducted at his and other former high-ranking officials' homes, over 7 million dollars in cash, expensive jewelry and wristwatches, artworks, several thousand pages of documents, 50 mobile phones, and 119 pieces of electronic equipment were confiscated.(Source APA)
