It is reported that the meeting of European rabbis, which was to be held in Baku, has been cancelled.
Modern.az reports that Israel's "Ynet News" publication has released information on this matter.
According to the information, approximately 600 people, including rabbis, religious leaders, politicians, and public figures from Europe, Israel, the USA, and other countries, were expected to participate in the meeting of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) planned to be held in Baku on November 3–6.
Israel's chief rabbis David Yosef and Kalman Ber, as well as Diaspora and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amihay Shikli and Cultural Heritage Minister Amihay Eliyahu, were also expected to attend the event.
The organizers of the conference had stated in their previous announcements that the Baku meeting would be the first such large-scale rabbis' conference to be held in a Muslim country. The ceremony was presented as “an example of mutual respect and cooperation transcending religious and cultural boundaries.”
No official statement has been made regarding the reason for the meeting's cancellation or whether it has been postponed to another date.
