Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev does not plan to participate in the European Political Community summit to be held in Armenia in May 2026.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in information obtained by Caliber.az from diplomatic sources.
It was noted that the current level of bilateral relations does not allow considering President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Yerevan a real step:
"Azerbaijan acts on the principle of real action. Without the signing of a peace agreement and the activation of practical mechanisms, a high-level visit could create a false impression regarding the completion of the process. Without formalizing the legal basis and commencing the fulfillment of obligations, it is still too early to take such steps", - it was noted in the information.
