The return of Armenians currently on trial in Baku as accused persons is not on the agenda of the Armenian authorities.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Lilit Galstyan, a deputy from the opposition “Hayastan” faction of the Armenian parliament, during her briefing.

"Their return should be a priority on both Armenia's domestic and foreign policy agendas. However, despite the authorities' statements that they have raised this issue in various international forums, the results are zero," Galstyan noted.

The opposition deputy accused the Pashinyan government of indifference to this issue.

It should be recalled that in the court proceedings held in Baku on November 13, the prosecutor demanded life imprisonment for the so-called “former leader of Nagorno-Karabakh” Arayik Harutyunyan, the “former commander” of separatist formations Levon Mnatsakanyan and his “deputy” David Manukyan, the so-called “former speaker of parliament” David Ishkhanyan, and the “former foreign minister” David Babayan. He also requested 20 years in prison for the former heads of the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh” Arkadi Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan.

The court case of Ruben Vardanyan, the so-called “former state minister of Nagorno-Karabakh”, is being investigated separately.
