WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging application, will cease to function on many phones starting from November 15. Update support will be withdrawn from phones running Android and iOS operating systems.
Modern.az reports that the announced list also includes popular models such as “iPhone6” and “Samsung Galaxy S7”.
Consequently, WhatsApp will no longer provide update support for many smartphones manufactured in 2016 and earlier. The company has announced that new features added to the application will cause performance issues on devices with weaker technical specifications. As a result, these phones will not be able to receive new versions of the application, and after a certain period, WhatsApp will cease to function entirely.
The discontinuation of support is expected to affect hundreds of phone models.
