Pope Leo XIV is on a visit to Turkey.
Modern.az reports that the Pope's plane has landed in Ankara.
The Pope will first visit Anıtkabir, and will then be received with an official ceremony by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Within the framework of the visit, various meetings and rites are planned to be held in Istanbul.
The Pope will have a meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew. They will sign a joint declaration and participate in events related to the 1700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea in Iznik.
Within the framework of the visit, meetings will also be held on topics of ecumenical dialogue, religious tolerance, and peace and cooperation in the region.
