Facts regarding the support of some FETO members for Gültəkin Hacıbəyli

Faktyoxla investigated the identity of a group of forces supporting "National Council" member Gültəkin Hacıbəyli after her detention in Turkey and Europe.

1. Among the websites that published the news about Gültəkin Hacıbəyli's detention, the first one that caught our attention was the website named “aktifhaber”.

During our investigations, we determined that the founder of this website is the FETO-affiliated journalist Cevheri Güven, living in Germany.

These screenshots are taken from news published in the Turkish media regarding the origin and direction of the website:

It should be noted that this website, Cevheri Güven, is presented as a “victim in the media field” on the website of the so-called “Turkey Tribunal” established in Belgium in 2020 by FETO members whose applications to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) were rejected. Furthermore, the name of the “aktifhaber” website is mentioned alongside other “FETO-affiliated websites” in the “media” section of the “Turkey Tribunal” portal.

In all news published by “Aktifhaber” concerning Azerbaijan, bias and defamation are clearly evident.

For example, in the news ‘‘Azerbaijani police kidnapped an opposition student studying at METU in the center of Ankara’’ the website does not hesitate to defame Azerbaijan, and in the news ‘‘Azerbaijani lawyers came for the second round: not to interfere in your internal affairs, but…’’ Azerbaijan is accused of interfering in the elections held in Turkey. By placing the sentence “Turkey will pay the price for the “strong state” fairy tale” as the title of an interview with Azerbaijani lawyer Intigam Aliyev, who presents himself as a human rights defender, an attempt is made to damage Turkey-Azerbaijan relations. is made

On this website, we observe a completely different approach regarding Armenians and Armenia. “aktifhaber”, which prioritizes aggression, bias, and defamation in news related to Azerbaijan, demonstrates the exact opposite reaction towards Armenians, or more precisely, special sympathy. For example, in the news ‘‘Armenian church turned into a library! Every person has the right to worship, lest they curse you later’’ alongside manipulative information, sympathy and love towards Armenians are openly expressed.

Why do we say “manipulative information”?! Because during our investigations, we determined that this church was registered as an Assyrian church and we did not encounter any historical fact regarding the church being an Armenian church. did not encounter.

On “April 24” each year, the day of the so-called “Armenian genocide”, this website, which prioritizes articles such as ‘‘106 years of no confrontation with the truth: “What is the Armenian genocide, what happened?’’, the reason why this website supports Gültəkin Hacıbəyli should not be difficult to understand.

2. One of those who showed activity regarding Gültəkin Hacıbəyli's detention is the owner of the “MGTV” “YouTube” channel, who presents himself as a journalist and political expert, Mustafa Gürbüz.

On his “X” account, he made two posts, citing “An appeal from an Azerbaijani opposition politician to Turkish officials" and the "Kafkassam" (Caucasus Strategic Research Center) website, led by Hasan Oktay, known for his biased stance against Azerbaijan, stating “Gültəkin Hacıbəyli: "I am being held at the Arnavutköy deportation center in Istanbul". It is also known that Mustafa Gürbüz frequently invited Gültəkin Hacıbəyli as a guest to his channel's programs.

On May 10, 2025, Mustafa Gürbüz shared a photo he took with Gültəkin Hacıbəyli and wrote the following sentences: ‘‘We met face-to-face for the first time with Gültəkin Hacıbəyli, one of Azerbaijan's important politicians, a member of the “National Council” and former Member of Parliament, whom we sometimes invited as a guest to our programs on MGTV. We had very useful discussions regarding the Turkic World. Hopefully, in the future, we will have the opportunity to see intellectuals like Ms. Gültəkin in more active roles’’.

Considering that Mustafa Gürbüz's father, Ali Gürbüz, was one of the active “Nurcu” journalists operating in Turkey in the 1970s-80s, this will help us understand one of the reasons for his "sensitive" approach to the Gültəkin Hacıbəyli issue.

3. Member of Parliament Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu from the “DEM” Party, who has become proficient in creating a negative image of Azerbaijan, has also taken his place among those supporting Gültəkin Hacıbəyli. Ö.F.Gergerlioğlu shared statuses regarding G.Hacıbəyli on his “X” and “Facebook” pages: “Azerbaijani opposition politician Gültəkin Hacıbəyli has been detained in Istanbul. You cannot illegally deport a Member of Parliament who represented Azerbaijan in PACE for 10 years from Turkey just because she is an opposition figure!”.

Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu “tagged” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the Migration Service in his status.

One day later, Gergerlioğlu raised the issue of Gültəkin Hacıbəyli's detention in Istanbul and her deportation with the “G-82” code (“Entry ban for foreign citizens deemed dangerous for national security”) in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. raised

So, it is interesting, what is the connection between Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu and the mob defending Gültəkin Hacıbəyli?!…

In fact, Ö. F. Gergerlioğlu's connections with FETO are not new to those who follow the processes. For example, when FETO members who fled the country held online meetings in 2020, this person also participated in those meetings.

Another fact confirming our claims can be seen in the news headline of the “Gerçek Hayat” website:

If we pay attention to who supported Gergerlioğlu when his “Member of Parliament” mandate was revoked in 2021, we will clarify many issues. During that period, Gergerlioğlu was supported by FETO members who fled the country and sought refuge abroad, including Tarık Toros, Ahmet Dönmez, Akın İpek, Emre Uslu, Said Sefa, PKK imam Bahattin Karataş, and former “imams” in the USA, İsmail Nazlı. supported him

This person, who hides behind the image of a “human rights defender” to conceal his relations with FETO members, has frequently been the subject of articles in “Faktyoxla” regarding his repeated baseless accusations against Azerbaijan. One of the reasons for Gergerlioğlu's zeal regarding the current issue can also be linked to him finding an additional “pretext” to conduct hate speech against Azerbaijan.

4. It is also known that the “X” account of the media organization named “Schwarzwald Media”, managed from Germany, also shared a status.

When we conducted a cursory search regarding the media organization, it became clear that this “media organization” consists only of an “X” account and a “YouTube” channel of the same name.

When we investigated the individuals whose videos are published on this “YouTube” channel, we determined that the vast majority of these individuals fled Turkey due to FETO, and all of them, especially Bülent Korucu and Adem Yavuz Arslan, work for FETO's media resource, the “tr724.com” website.

5. Another media organization active on the Gültəkin Hacıbəyli issue is the website named “Boldmedya”, also established in Germany. This media organization also wrote on its “X” account that “Azerbaijan's former Member of Parliament and member of the “National Council”, Gültəkin Hacıbəyli, was deported to Azerbaijan immediately after her detention.”

For your information, this media organization also consists only of a website and a “YouTube” channel. Almost all of the journalists who write articles and produce videos against Turkey and the current government in “Boldmedya” are wanted by Turkey.

When we paid attention to the news related to our country on the “Boldmedya” website, it became clear that the news about Azerbaijan published in “aktifhaber” was also republished in “Boldmedya”. For example, ‘‘Azerbaijani police kidnapped an opposition student in the center of Ankara’’, “Azerbaijani manat exceeded 8 liras, Nakhchivan residents flocked to Iğdır: our money is good here” and similar news were published in both “Boldmedya” and “aktifhaber” without even touching a period or a comma.

6. One of those who kept the issue of G. Hacıbəyli's detention on the agenda is lawyer Figen Çalıkuşu. She reposted “Karar Haber”'s status regarding Gültəkin Hacıbəyli.

It should also be noted that Figen Çalıkuşu, a columnist for the “Karar” newspaper, known for her closeness to Ahmet Davutoğlu, the leader of the “Future” Party, is also known as the lawyer for FETO-affiliated journalists Mehmet and Ahmet Altan brothers and Nazlı Ilıcak.

Figen Çalıkuşu, who co-produces a program called “Refleks” with journalist Erk Acarer, who is hiding abroad, on the “Özgürüz” YouTube channel founded by journalist Can Dündar, known for his closeness to FETO, is also the lawyer for the “Bağımsız Gazeteciler Platformu Derneği” (Independent Journalists Platform Association). This association, in turn, receives donations and grants every year from a foundation named “Chrest Foundation”, headquartered in the USA.

Considering all these points, we should not view lawyer Figen Çalıkuşu's support for Gültəkin Hacıbəyli as an unusual occurrence. That is, the process continues in its natural course.

One of the media organizations distinguished by its activity regarding the issue and with suspicions of certain connections to FETO is the "Karar” newspaper.  An article titled "Detention of Azerbaijani politician Hacıbəyli on the Parliament's agenda: What is the basis of the “G-82” threat code?!" was published on the newspaper's website.

A status titled "Azerbaijani politician Gültəkin Hacıbəyli detained in Istanbul, to be deported with “G-82” code" was shared on the newspaper's “X” account.

The name of the journalist who prepared this news, Feyza Nur Çalıkoğlu, is familiar to those who follow news related to Azerbaijan in Turkey.

This journalist is also among those who frequently prepare baseless and biased news about Azerbaijan in the “Karar” newspaper. For example, this journalist played a role in the disinformation spread in Turkey some time ago regarding Azerbaijan's participation in the “Eurovision” song contest. Thus, many media organizations participating in the campaign organized against Azerbaijan in the Turkish media referred to the article published under the signature of Feyza Nur Çalıkoğlu.

Or, the news regarding “The start of protests in 14 cities around the world against Aliyev and Erdoğan sending fuel to Israel” based on the appeal of the "1000 Youth for Palestine” group is also the product of this journalist's pen.

Also, although the news titled "Gergerlioğlu protested Aliyev in Baku over Israel: Fuel cannot go to Israel from Baku-Ceyhan" is unsigned, it is clearly discernible from the writing style that it belongs to Feyza Nur Çalıkoğlu.

This person's hatred towards Azerbaijan is such that she prepared an article about Azerbaijani citizen Nənəxanım Babazadə, who was deported from Turkey for participating in student protests, and spread false information about N.Babazadə receiving death threats from Azerbaijan.

It should also be noted that Feyza Nur Çalıkoğlu's name is not only mentioned in disinformation related to Azerbaijan. She was sued by the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs for spreading false information about “deportation centers”.

Conclusion

- It is a fact that the media outlets and social media accounts supporting Gültəkin Hacıbəyli belong to FETO members;

- These individuals primarily operate against Azerbaijan and Turkey;

- The support they provide clarifies many obscure issues.
