The defense industry is a very important sector. We are already developing this sector. We are not merely intending to sell weapons to Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, during statements to the press.
He noted that this sector is highly developed in Slovakia:
"We also have extensive experience in the field of self-propelled artillery systems, ammunition, and other products. We can work with Azerbaijan on technology transfer, utilization of Azerbaijani financing, and joint production, and sell the products we produce together to third countries.
I am pleased that during the visit of our Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Kalinak, the Azerbaijani side also expressed interest in the acquisition of automatic artillery systems and has already stated its intention. I am confident that these types of weapons will also strengthen the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Joint ventures, joint companies, technology transfer – that is, we are determined to work even more closely in this area, and of course, there may be other areas as well. As you know, a Slovak company is building a "smart village" in the Karabakh region. At the same time, our export-import bank is also ready to finance various projects".
