"No country in the world can fully provide for itself in terms of raw materials anymore. Therefore, everyone needs each other, and everyone must be accessible. In this regard, Turkey plays the role of a bridge in the East-West corridor, from the historical Silk Road to the modern Silk Road."
Modern.az reports that Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, stated this in his remarks to "Haber Global".
He touched upon the importance of the Middle Corridor and the Zangezur corridor, which is a part of it.
"We need alternatives both in terms of cargo capacity and in terms of emergencies. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line remained closed for 1.5 years due to repair works. In this sense, we will continue to support the Middle Corridor. Thanks to the Zangezur corridor, direct access will be provided to the Turkic world and Turkic states. This will be the world's highest-capacity trade route," the minister noted.
