The new year 2026 begins with a magnetic storm for Earth.
Modern.az reports that the British Geological Survey has released information on this matter.
It is reported that geomagnetic conditions are expected to intensify due to high-speed plasma streams emanating from a coronal hole formed on the Sun and possible coronal mass ejections.
According to the information, a G1-level magnetic storm is predicted for January 1, with a possibility of it intensifying to a G2 level within a short period.
It is reported that on January 2, the magnetic storm will weaken, and the geomagnetic situation will be mostly calm or remain at a G1 level.
