A drunk driver committing road hooliganism on the Baku–Shamakhi–Yevlakh road has been apprehended.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information provided by the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, although a 'stop' signal was given by employees of the department's 4th platoon to a 'VAZ 2102' brand vehicle with license plate 23 BX 550, which was committing gross traffic violations at the 220th kilometer of the Baku–Shamakhi–Yevlakh highway, the driver Raqif Məmmədov continued his movement without complying with the lawful demand of police officers: "To prevent the actions of the driver who was performing dangerous maneuvers to evade responsibility and creating a real danger for other road users, measures in accordance with the legislation were taken, and the vehicle was stopped.
During the investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, in an intoxicated state. The materials collected regarding the incident have been sent to the relevant court for consideration."
The Main State Traffic Police Department stated that attempts by drivers who grossly violate traffic rules, as well as those who do not comply with the lawful demands of police officers, to evade responsibility are unacceptable by law, and decisive measures will be taken against such cases.
