On January 16, a farewell ceremony is being held with National Hero of Azerbaijan Shahin Taghiyev at the Military Memorial Cemetery.
Modern.az reports that representatives of the state and public are participating in the ceremony.
It should be recalled that Shahin Talib oglu Taghiyev, originally from Shusha, was born on February 3, 1949, in the city of Tartar. In 1969, he graduated from the Energy Technical College and was sent to Russia's Udmurt region by assignment. Shahin Taghiyev, who was active in the energy and trade sectors in Russia and Azerbaijan from a young age, joined the National Liberation Movement in 1988. In 1991, the hero, who voluntarily joined the Karabakh war, led battles as a company commander with the rank of lieutenant. In 1992, he was appointed commander of the “Gurtulush” battalion, established on the basis of that company, and demonstrated special bravery in breaking through the enemy front in the Aghdara direction, as well as in battles fought in the directions of Tartar, Seysulan, Yarimja, and Levonarx. He passed away on December 29 in Malmö, Kingdom of Sweden, after a long illness.
Shahin Taghiyev's p was brought to the homeland on the night of January 15 with the support and organization of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
