Modern.az reports that Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, said this on January 16 in a conversation with journalists, commenting on the statements of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan regarding his support for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"As is known, elections will be held in Armenia at the beginning of June. This will be an important step, and according to polls, Mr. Pashinyan is the leader. His constructive role in this matter is supported. It is important to continue this line," Fidan stated the day before.
Simonyan did not answer the question of how the results of the polls conducted in Armenia reached the Turkish Foreign Minister, and the latter stated his support by referring to Pashinyan.
"I have no information about this. This is his opinion, and he says so," said the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament. In his opinion, Fidan's statement showed no sign of readiness to interfere in Armenia's internal affairs.
