A report was received by the police regarding the theft of household items worth 3000 manats from one of the residential houses in Göyşaban village of Lankaran district, and subsequently a fire breaking out at the same address.
Regarding this, information was provided to Modern.az by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was reported that, through measures carried out by employees of the Lankaran City-District Police Department, 37-year-old Elchin Guliyev, previously convicted and suspected of committing the act, was detained. It was also determined that he had set fire to the house after the incident with the aim of covering his tracks.
Through other measures carried out by police officers, 33-year-old Ismayil Yuzbashili and 63-year-old Zakir Jafarov, both previously convicted and suspected of committing thefts from houses in the district, were also identified and detained. Methadone pills with psychotropic content were also discovered and seized from them. Investigations are being conducted regarding the facts.
