The son of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Bilal Erdoğan, visited Tartar district with his family members.
Modern.az reports that within the framework of the visit, Bilal Erdoğan met with Mustagim Mammadov, the Head of Tartar District Executive Power. Later, together with the district head, they visited the open-air house-museum belonging to Sahib Ismayilov on Elman Safarov Street in Tartar city, which was destroyed as a result of a “Smerch” missile fired by Armenian separatists.
During the excursion, the head of the district executive power provided detailed information to the guests about the severe damage inflicted on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure as a result of missile and artillery attacks by Armenian armed forces during the 44-day Patriotic War.
It was stated that during the war, a total of 16,277 artillery, tank, and “Grad” shells were fired at Tartar city and its settlements, and 21 prohibited missiles were used. One of these missiles – a “Smerch” missile – fell on Sahib Ismayilov's house, which is preserved as an open-air museum as a clear example of the terror perpetrated by Armenians against the civilian population today, completely destroying the building. This fact is clear evidence of Armenian barbarism and acts of terror committed against peaceful residents.
It was noted that during the 44-day Patriotic War, 3663 individual residential houses in 40 settlements, 1741 apartments in 83 multi-apartment buildings, 301 non-residential areas, 184 entrepreneurial and public catering enterprises, 47 social facilities, including 12 nurseries and kindergartens, 16 schools, the Initial Vocational School, the Youth Center, the Music School, the Club Community Center, 10 medical institutions, and 30 administrative buildings, 103 vehicles, 18 agricultural machinery, and 505 cultivated areas suffered damage, with extensive destruction. 58 individual residential houses, 2 houses in multi-apartment buildings, 1 non-residential area, and 2 social facilities were completely destroyed.
It was emphasized that Tartar district lost 46 servicemen and 16 civilians as martyrs in the 44-day Patriotic War.
During the visit, Bilal Erdoğan expressed deep regret over these destructions and tragedies committed against the civilian population, conveying solidarity and support to the Azerbaijani people and the residents of Tartar. The visit concluded with the taking of commemorative photos.
