One of the martyrs of January 20 is Firuz Vali oglu Jabbarov, born in 1972, from Kalbajar district.
His sister Gulana Jabbarova told Modern.az about her martyred brother:
“We were in Kalbajar. He was staying with my uncle in Baku. My uncle was a teacher. My brother was also a technical school student specializing in accounting.
On that day, Firuz went out into the street with his fellow students. At that time, young people came out into the square. In general, people had shielded themselves with the thought that perhaps they could prevent the suppression by this method.
My brother was a very conscientious, kind young man; he wanted to become a soldier in the future.
He was eager to do something for his native village of Babashli. Whether to build a school, or construct a road... His thoughts were beyond his years. At 17-18 years old, he was thinking of doing something for the country. Unfortunately, his dreams remained unfulfilled.
I very much wish that some school or street in our district would bear my brother's name. I want at least one memory that will keep him alive in the country”.
Firuz Vali oglu Jabbarov was awarded the honorary title of “January 20 Martyr” by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan.
The Jabbarov family is provided with the Presidential scholarship granted to the January 20 martyrs.
