Snowy weather conditions have prevailed in mountainous and foothill regions for several days. Quba is among the regions where precipitation has been recorded.
Modern.az contacted Nasimi Mammadov, the representative of the Guba District Executive Power for the Khinalig village administrative-territorial district, to obtain information regarding roads and school operations in connection with the current weather conditions.
In his statement to our website, the representative stated that no serious road problems were experienced in the area.
According to him, snowfall and frost were more intense in the evening hours.
“Although short-term interruptions in vehicle movement were observed today, the road was fully open and operational until yesterday.
Roads in Khinalig are regularly cleared and constantly monitored. Although vehicles may sometimes not be seen on the road due to reduced traffic from the village, no serious problems have been recorded so far”.
N. Mammadov added that there are no problems regarding the operation of schools and attendance in Khinalig village:
“The snow cover is approximately 25-30 centimeters. Compared to Baku, the situation in the village area, where there is no heavy traffic, is more stable. There are no problems with pedestrian movement, the operation of schools and other social facilities, or fuel supply.
Despite the snowy weather conditions, the activities of no institution have been suspended. The emergency medical service continues its operations and works on a shift basis. Overall, the situation in Khinalig is currently stable, and no serious problems are observed,” the representative noted.
