The category of some state-owned land plots in Azerbaijan has been changed.
According to information from Modern.az, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed an Order regarding the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 577 dated January 15, 2026, on the establishment of the "Western Industrial Park".
According to the document, the Ganja City Executive Power, in agreement with the Ministry of Economy and the Investment Holding, will ensure the transfer of 81.8 hectares of state-owned land, currently used by "Azeralluminium" Limited Liability Company, located on the Yevlakh highway in Ganja city, and categorized as industrial, transport, communication, defense, and other designated lands, for permanent use by the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy, with the right to lease, within two months, and will inform the Cabinet of Ministers about this.
Furthermore, in accordance with the requirements of the "Rules for Categorizing Lands and Transferring Them from One Category to Another," approved by Presidential Decree No. 201 dated September 28, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan, the Shamkir District Executive Power, and the Konullu Municipality of Shamkir district will submit their respective opinions and necessary documents to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan within one month regarding the change in category of 100 hectares of municipal agricultural land located in Konullu village, Shamkir district, to the category of industrial, transport, communication, defense, and other designated lands.
