On the TikTok platform, instances are encountered where pages are created under the name “Legal Center” to gather followers through live broadcasts and thereby abuse the trust of citizens.
Cesaret Qambarli, an employee of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Modern.az that as a result of investigative measures carried out at the Yasamal District Police Department based on citizens' appeals, Sabiyya Panaliyeva, who presented herself as a lawyer on social media, was charged as an accused person under the relevant article of the Criminal Code for fraudulently appropriating a total of 449,916 manats from 145 victims, and a pre-trial detention measure was chosen against her.
Through measures taken during the investigation, the payment of 381,529 manats of the inflicted material damage has been ensured, and the preliminary investigation of the criminal case is currently ongoing.
Other individuals who have suffered from S. Panaliyeva's illegal actions can also apply to the investigation as appropriate.
