Mahmudali Chehraganli, the exiled leader of the Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement (GAMOH) in the USA, has issued a statement announcing his refusal to cooperate with Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's overthrown Shah.
Modern.az reports that Mahmudali Chehraganli stated the following regarding this:
“Pahlavi called me. They tried to buy me. They told me I would be the governor of Southern Azerbaijan.
His father assaulted and murdered 35,000 Turks. We are neither monarchists nor sheikhists: We are Turkish nationalists.”
