The strongest magnetic storm of February occurred on Tuesday night (the night of February 17).
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"The G2 magnetic storm began and ended in one night. It was the strongest storm in February," scientists noted.
They noted that the Sun has been behaving strangely lately.
"Short, isolated flares from nowhere, followed by silence again. Auroras lasting 40 minutes. And now a magnetic storm lasting less than an hour. It seems to be selling off its last remaining items," experts noted.
Scientists also added that there will be a solar eclipse this afternoon.
