Lieutenant General Babek Gurbanov, 43, who was recently retired, has been reinstated.
Modern.az reports that he has been appointed as an assistant to Colonel General Elchin Guliyev, the head of the State Border Service.
B. Gurbanov, who most recently served as the head of the Central Apparatus of the SBS, left military service due to health reasons. The General will continue his activities as a civilian employee.
It should be noted that B. Gurbanov distinguished himself with his bravery during the Second Karabakh War. After the war, he was awarded the honorary title of “Hero of the Patriotic War,” followed by the rank of Major General, and a few years later, the higher military rank of Lieutenant General.(Qafqazinfo)
