Ceyhun Bayramov provided information on normalization with Armenia

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegations led by Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Modern.az, during the meeting, the current state and development prospects of the alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey and the strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as the security situation in the wider region, were discussed.

At the meeting, the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, especially regular contacts between foreign relations committees, was highlighted. It was noted with satisfaction that the 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia gave an additional impetus to relations.

The parties noted that trilateral cooperation formats between foreign affairs and defense ministers, along with parliaments, contribute to strengthening peace, stability, security, and prosperity in the region. Energy security, transport and communication projects, including the development of the Middle Corridor, and regional economic integration were among the main topics discussed.

In addition, views were exchanged on ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region in the post-conflict period, the normalization process, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in this direction. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information about the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace and normalization process, and highlighted the steps taken by our country and our expectations.
