In Moscow, an iftar was given on behalf of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and the Russian Representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Modern.az reports that the iftar table, attended by over 1500 people, took place within the framework of the 'Azerbaijani Evening' held in the Ramadan Tent set up at 'Poklonnaya Gora', organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Moscow and supported by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and the Moscow government.
During the event, a photo exhibition on the restoration of Karabakh mosques, implemented with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, was displayed.
Nazim Ismayil-zade, Deputy Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Representation in Russia, conveyed the greetings and congratulations of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to the event participants. He noted that holding Azerbaijani evenings in the Ramadan Tent in Moscow has become a good tradition.
"The Heydar Aliyev Foundation pays great attention to the development of culture and humanitarian issues, as well as to the restoration of mosques in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, which guests will be able to see at the exhibition this evening," he emphasized.
Tamilla Ahmadova, Head of the Humanitarian Programs Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Representation in the Russian Federation, expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, for her attention and support in organizing iftars during the holy month of Ramadan. She noted the importance of the month of Ramadan in terms of strengthening spiritual values: "The month of Ramadan is a period of mercy, purification, and good deeds, when one particularly feels the need to help others."
Yusif Vazirov, Advisor to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia, speaking at the ceremony, conveyed the greetings of Ambassador Rahman Mustafayev.
Marat Arslanov, Deputy Mufti of Moscow, stated that celebrating the Azerbaijani evening within the framework of the "Ramadan Tent" has become a long-standing good tradition, contributing to the strengthening of intercultural dialogue: "I have been participating in this project since 2006, from its inception, and for many years, together with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and with the participation of the Foundation's Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva, we have been holding an evening dedicated to Azerbaijani culture and the traditions of the Azerbaijani people. It is gratifying that this year we again have the opportunity to meet, break our fast together, and enjoy the cultural program prepared for our guests," he said.
At the event, a letter of gratitude was presented to the Russian Representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on behalf of the organizers of the "Ramadan Tent".
Subsequently, the adhan was recited by a religious figure, and the Muslims of Moscow broke their fast. They were offered national dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine.
At the end of the event, a cultural program was organized. Students of the Muslim Children's School performed before the event participants, followed by a concert by "Buta Trio" which introduced guests to Azerbaijan's rich musical heritage.
It should be noted that the Russian Representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been participating in the "Ramadan Tent" project organized in Moscow for the 19th year. The "Ramadan Tent" is an important project implemented by the Council of Muftis of Russia with the aim of uniting representatives of numerous peoples living in Moscow and practicing Islam, and strengthening relations among them. This year's "Ramadan Tent" project is held under the motto "Cultural Code of the Future". Representatives from approximately ten countries, including Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iran, CIS countries, and various regions of Russia, as well as Azerbaijan, participate in the project. (APA)
