Microsoft founder Bill Gates apologized to the employees of the Gates Foundation for his ties with Jeffrey Epstein and admitted to making mistakes that cast a shadow on the charitable organization.
Modern.az reports that in a letter published in The Wall Street Journal and sent to the foundation's employees, Gates wrote that he began meeting with Epstein in 2011 after the financier admitted to organizing the recruitment of women for prostitution. The Microsoft founder noted that his wife Melinda opposed his association with Epstein.
Gates also admitted to his employees that he had extramarital affairs. "I had relationships, one with a Russian player I met at a bridge tournament, and the other with a Russian nuclear physicist I met through business contacts," he stated.
The Microsoft founder admitted that "spending time with Epstein and involving foundation leaders in meetings with a sexual offender was a big mistake." However, Gates emphasized that he "did nothing illegal."
