Approximately 900 villages across the country in Azerbaijan are still not gasified.
Regarding this, in response to an inquiry from Modern.az, information was provided by the “Azerigaz” Production Union.
The institution stated that the gasification process is carried out in stages, and the reason for postponing some villages to the final stage is economic inefficiency:
“Difficult terrain and infrastructure problems complicate the implementation of projects in some villages”.
It was also noted that gasification plans are prepared annually in accordance with "Azerigaz"'s financial capabilities and included in relevant programs. Although the gasification of all villages across the country is envisaged, a definitive completion date has not been determined.
The sequence of ungasified villages is determined by both difficult terrain and the low number of residents in some villages.
Additionally, the districts of Qazakh, Kurdamir, Hajigabul, Fuzuli, Bilasuvar, Beylagan, Balakan, Agstafa, Aghdam, Absheron, Yevlakh, and Shirvan have already been fully gasified. The remaining 900 villages are located in other districts of the country, and gas supply continues in stages.
