They live in the central areas of the capital, but because the area of their apartments is small, they cannot buy an apartment in the vicinity of where they live with the amount of compensation provided.
Modern.az reports that this is precisely one of the main problems of homeowners within the framework of demolition works carried out in the capital. For example, when an apartment with an area of 30 square meters is demolished, if 2700 manats per square meter is calculated as compensation, it amounts to a little more than 80,000 manats, and with this money, the homeowner cannot buy a house near the area where they live, i.e., in the central areas.
According to MP Vugar Bayramov, there is a need to improve this mechanism - instead of compensation, homeowners with small-area properties should be given a house in an area close to that location.
MP Vugar Bayramov stated that during the acquisition of lands for state needs, additional support mechanisms for citizens can also be considered within the framework of existing possibilities.
