The reason why Matlab Huseynov, the former director of the Baku State Vocational Education Center for Processing Industry, and chief accountant Aynakhanim Babayeva, who were accused of embezzlement and official crimes, were not brought to criminal responsibility has become known.
Modern.az reports that they returned 244,152.95 manats stolen from the state budget during the investigation period.
For this reason, the criminal proceedings against both individuals have been terminated.
Thus, in the last hearing held at the Baku Court for Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Azer Tagiyev, the information provided by the injured party stating that the damage caused to the court had been compensated and a reconciliation had been reached with the accused was announced.
Subsequently, the verdict was announced, and the criminal case against Matlab Huseynov and Aynakhanim Babayeva was terminated.
It should be noted that the criminal case against them was conducted by the Main Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General.
According to the indictment, Matlab Huseynov, in collusion with Aynakhanim Babayeva, transferred additional funds to employees' bank accounts under the guise of bonuses, and subsequently embezzled 175,365 manats by cashing them out.
The State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Science and Education was recognized as the injured party in the criminal case.
Both individuals were charged under Articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement on a large scale), 308.2 (abuse of official powers), and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code.(Qafqazinfo)
