"Currently, approximately 80 thousand people are employed in the tourism sector in Azerbaijan. Calculations show that the development of tourism can support the creation of 450 jobs in the coming years".
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Committee Chairman Musa Guliyev during his speech at the Labor and Social Policy Committee's hearing on 'The Current State and Development Prospects of Tourism in Azerbaijan'.
According to him, tourism combines more than 50 sectors. According to him, as this sector develops, state revenues and employment increase, small and medium-sized businesses expand, and regions revive:
"Let's admit that currently, the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan is much lower than our country's potential. Azerbaijan's nature, history, culture, and cuisine are very attractive for tourism. Public order and security are at a high level. However, it is difficult to become a strong tourism country without solving problems related to price, service, logistics, and promotion".
