A large meeting of non-governmental organizations of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be held in Ankara in April this year.
Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party and Chairman of the party's Relations with Turkic States, stated this in an exclusive statement to Modern.az.
According to him, leading NGO representatives from countries within the OTS space will participate in the meeting, and the strengthening of cooperation on an institutional basis will be discussed.
“Representatives from NGOs of Turkic states will gather in Turkey in April. Through this platform, inter-NGO relations will deepen further. At the same time, organizations will gain the opportunity to convey their proposals and initiatives more promptly to the relevant institutions of the member countries”, Zorlu emphasized.
The AK Party official noted that within the framework of the meeting, the creation of common activity mechanisms, the promotion of joint projects, and the enhancement of the role of civil society institutions in the Turkic world will be the main agenda topics. It should be noted that the meeting is expected to strengthen coordination among the non-governmental sector within the Organization of Turkic States and give impetus to the formation of a long-term cooperation platform. The appropriate profile of the organizations participating in Ankara is also among the main conditions.
