According to unofficial data, approximately 400-500 thousand undocumented or undocumentable private residential areas exist in Azerbaijan. This issue increases the urgency of how private residential houses should be constructed in accordance with legislation.
Modern.az reports that in many cases, citizens are unaware of the requirements that must be met during house construction. So, where should one apply to build a private house? Is a permit required for this?
According to real estate expert Elnur Azadov, there is no need to obtain a special permit for the construction of private residential houses up to 12 meters in height. By applying to the design and estimate bureaus operating in the country, citizens submit documents related to the land plot they own.
"In accordance with the norms, a sketch project of the house is prepared, and after it is approved by the relevant authorities, the citizen can start the construction process," the expert stated. (Baku TV)
