Some sections of the Baku–Shamakhi–Yevlakh road are covered in ice.
Modern.az reports that snowfall during the night and changing temperatures have caused problems on the highway. Some sections of the Baku–Shamakhi–Yevlakh highway are covered in ice. Icing is observed mostly in the section passing through the territory of Gobustan district.
In connection with the current situation, personnel and special-purpose equipment of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA) Highway Maintenance LLC No. 4 have been deployed to the area. A salt-sand mixture has been spread on the winding and uphill-downhill sections of the road considered dangerous.
Due to skidding, a road traffic accident involving two passenger cars was recorded on the section of the road passing through Shamakhi; no injuries were reported.
Currently, there are no restrictions on traffic movement in the sections of the highway passing through Gobustan, Shamakhi, and Agsu areas, as well as on the Muganli-Ismayilli road; vehicles are moving freely in both directions.
