The state flag has been lowered to half-mast at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan.
According to **Modern.az**, this step was taken as a sign of mourning at the embassy building located in Baku.
Additionally, a wreath symbolizing mourning was placed in front of the embassy building.
It should be noted that on February 28, powerful strikes were launched against Tehran, the capital of Iran, within the framework of a joint military operation by the US and Israel. As a result of the attacks, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. Along with him, a number of high-ranking military and government officials were also killed.
The Iranian leadership has declared 40 days of mourning in the country in connection with Khamenei's death.
