A citizen who contacted Baku TV's hotline reported that serious problems were discovered in the car he purchased one day later.

Although he attempted to return the vehicle, the person who sold the car rejected his request. Generally, similar incidents have been occurring frequently recently.

So, what should a citizen do in such a situation?

According to lawyer Mircavid Miriyev, a car can be returned if, during the sale, the seller provides false information about the vehicle to the buyer, conceals significant defects, or if illegal interventions have been made to the car.

"For example, the rollback of the mileage indicator, the sale of a car that has been in a serious accident with this fact concealed, or the failure to inform the buyer about serious technical defects when they were known beforehand, can create a legal basis for return. However, in practice, resolving relations between parties on a legal basis in such cases is not always easy. One of the main reasons for this is the absence of a detailed written contract. Unfortunately, in some cases, citizens transfer cars based on a power of attorney to evade taxes. In such cases, proving the paid amount, the agreed terms, and the fact of the sale in general becomes considerably more difficult in subsequent disputes," the lawyer stated.

Experts emphasize that to avoid such problems, citizens must absolutely have the car undergo a technical inspection before purchasing it. During the inspection process, it is recommended to consult professionals specialized in this field, rather than random individuals. Otherwise, subsequent regret may yield no results.
