Residents living in dormitory No. 4, 15th quarter, Sumgayit city, contacted Baku TV's hotline and reported that they have been living in substandard conditions for several years.
Modern.az reports that, according to them, despite repeatedly appealing to the relevant institutions regarding the issue, their complaints have not been addressed.
"We can no longer endure this. Our family consists of 5 people; two of our children are ill. Five of us live in one small room. Why is no solution being found for this? They say we will be relocated, but there is nothing concrete. We are left waiting and waiting. As soon as the month of Ramadan began, the building started to crumble and fall apart," said one of the residents.
Another resident stated:
"I have been living in this dormitory since 1977. It has no proper conditions; it crumbles and falls apart on us every day, and no one cares."
Regarding the issue, Fazil Hajiyev, the commandant of the dormitory, made a statement. He stated that the area is included in the plan:
"The buildings there will be demolished, and new buildings will be constructed in their place. Residents will be paid compensation in accordance with the established procedure."
