Within the framework of the dual degree program implemented at the master's level between Baku Engineering University (BMU) and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), 8 students will depart for the People's Republic of China tomorrow.
At the meeting organized at the university on this occasion, Atraba Gul, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of BMU, stated in her speech that the program not only provides students with the opportunity to obtain two diplomas but also creates conditions for their development in an international academic environment, familiarization with various scientific schools, and growth as competitive specialists in the global labor market.
It was noted that the Chinese higher education system is distinguished by its discipline, high academic requirements, and strong research traditions. Education in this environment will deepen master's students' theoretical knowledge and develop their practical skills and independent research capabilities. The Vice-Rector also emphasized that the program jointly implemented with BUCEA is an important component of the university's internationalization strategy and opens up new scientific, technological, and cultural opportunities for students.
During the meeting, detailed information was provided to the students who qualified for the program regarding the upcoming academic process, the education system, and the new phase of life. At the same time, information was presented about the characteristics of Chinese society, daily life rules, cultural values, and social behavior norms. Students were reminded of the importance of respecting the laws and traditions of the country where they will study, demonstrating academic responsibility and discipline, and were also advised to appropriately represent Azerbaijan's higher education system and national values.
Finally, students' questions were answered, and they were wished success in their studies.
For your information, a dual degree program is implemented in the specialties of “Architecture”, “Civil Engineering”, “Environmental Engineering”, “Information Technologies”, and “Mechanical Engineering” within the framework of two models, based on the memorandum of cooperation signed between BMU and BUCEA. The education process is organized in a 0.5+1.5 year format: students complete the first semester of the program at BMU and the subsequent three semesters at BUCEA. The main objective of the program is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists with international experience.
Students selected according to the established criteria for the program will receive master's diplomas from both universities after completing their studies.
