Air tickets for some destinations have increased by up to 20 percent.
Modern.az reports that a price increase is observed, especially in flights to Asian countries, against the backdrop of events occurring in the region.
Rahman Guliyev, an expert on tourism issues, states that the suspension of direct flights to Doha and Dubai has redirected passengers to alternative routes. This, in turn, affects prices due to increased demand.
According to him, while it was possible to buy tickets to Asian countries for 1000 manats in normal times, this now varies between 1200-1500 manats.
The expert also added that the events occurring in Iran affect not only prices but also the overall tourism flow. Some tourists postpone their travel plans or change their destinations.
Experts believe that if stability is restored in the region, a gradual normalization in air ticket prices may also be observed.
