"The war in the Middle East has begun to affect the Azerbaijani car market, as well as the countries of the region."
Modern.az reports that Vugar Oruj, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Appraisers Society (AQC), stated this in his declaration to BAKU.WS.
The AQC Chairman added that against the backdrop of the war, the increase in prices of oil, gold, and other strategic products is raising logistics and transportation costs, which directly affects car prices:
"Currently, although the price increase is not sharp, certain differences are already noticeable. A slight increase in prices is recorded especially for cars imported from Dubai. In the initial stage, an increase of around 3-5 thousand manats may be observed in prices, depending on the model, which varies approximately between 2-7 percent.
If the war is short-term, no significant fluctuations are expected in the market. However, if the confrontation becomes long-term and energy prices continue to rise, this could have a more serious impact on car imports and overall sales prices.
Currently, the price increase is mainly due to the rise in logistics and transit costs. The full impact of oil prices may be felt more clearly in the market after some time."
