Former investigator, writer Mushfiq Abbasov has been released after completing his 15-day administrative detention sentence.
Modern.az reports that he has issued a statement regarding his arrest.
“I am free now. I sincerely thank the people who were worried about me. I am satisfied with my detention conditions, and my health is in order.
Firstly, I state that I have not considered myself guilty of any administrative offense and have not violated the law in any of my statuses (posts on social media - ed.).
Secondly, if anyone considered any of my statuses to be contrary to state interests, I would have deleted that status if I had been told. Because I have always stood by my state. There was no need for administrative detention for this.
As for the 15-day detention period, Amir Timur has such a saying. He used to say that the dirty blood that comes out of a person sometimes clarifies their consciousness even more. I accept these 15 days as dirty blood and believe that these days further opened my insight and helped me see more clearly. I love my state and my nation. Not only my 15 days of freedom, but my entire life shall be sacrificed for Azerbaijan”, - M.Abbasov stated.
It should be recalled that M. Abbasov was arrested on February 15.
The information from the Prosecutor General's Office regarding him stated that proceedings for an administrative offense were initiated against Mushfiq Abbasov in the Department for Proceedings Outside Criminal Prosecution under Article 388-1.1.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (allowing the placement of information prohibited from dissemination by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" in an information resource or information and telecommunication network). Subsequently, the case was sent to the Yasamal District Court for consideration, and by the court's decision, a disciplinary measure in the form of administrative arrest for a period of 15 days was chosen against him.
