Last year, 198 children and adolescents contracted tuberculosis.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Irada Akhundova, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Lung Diseases of the Ministry of Health.
She stated that for 2024, this indicator was 278.
"While the incidence of tuberculosis per 100,000 people was 41.1 in 2015, this figure decreased to 21.5 in 2025. Approximately two-thirds of tuberculosis patients are men, and one-third are women. The detection level of the disease has also significantly increased. Thus, while this indicator was 53 percent in 2015, it reached 86 percent in 2025," she stated.
