Turkey will respond differently to Iran this time

The third missile launched from Iran was destroyed in Turkish airspace.

The attack is believed to have targeted Incirlik, a NATO air base located in Adana.

In other words, Iran's actual goal is said to be striking a US base.

In a statement to Modern.az, Turkish security expert İmbat Muğlu stated that Incirlik military base is a Turkish base:

"This is the third time a missile has been launched from Iran towards Turkey. The missile was destroyed by air defense systems in Adana. Fortunately, no adverse incidents or casualties occurred during the event. Incirlik military base is believed to have been the target here. However, this military base, belonging to the US, or rather NATO, is in fact a Turkish base. There are currently a significant number of our soldiers at Incirlik base, located in Adana, one of our country's most beautiful cities. Yesterday, many of our ministries, including our Minister of Defense, conveyed their views regarding Incirlik Air Base being a Turkish base.

As for Iran, this country, unfortunately, has already gone off the rails and is undertaking unnecessary actions in such circumstances. Although America and Israel have attacked Iran, unfortunately, Iran has turned the Middle East into a bloodbath. However, Turkey will not allow an attack on itself. If this latest missile attack was deliberate, Turkey will respond differently. Now consider, if your country is deliberately subjected to a missile attack three times, it means there are no good intentions."

İ. Muğlu noted that Turkey will respond adequately:

"If missiles are launched at Turkey three times today, Turkey will, in turn, launch three missiles at Iran. Today, the Turkish army is one of NATO's strongest armies. Turkey makes every effort for mediation, intervening in every way to deter America and Israel from these attacks against Iran. Yes, while these attacks by America and Israel may be unjust and unlawful, none of us view Iran's attacks on the Middle East positively. We do not criticize Iran's attacks on Israel or American bases. We say, "we wish this hadn't happened." But looking at the points Iran has attacked, even if they say, "we are striking American bases in the Middle East," unfortunately, many civilian settlements are also targeted. We see this clearly every day. For example, yesterday Iran launched a very serious attack on Erbil. A French soldier was killed there. Similarly, soldiers of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq were wounded or killed. This has not been fully covered in the press, but upon analysis, we see that Iran uses the same ballistic missiles to attack many points in the Middle East, from Abu Dhabi to Kuwait, Iraq, and Bahrain. None of these are acceptable.

Iran has also attacked Azerbaijan, and along with this, 4 attacks have been carried out on Turkish soil, and there will certainly be a response to this.

So why does Turkey maintain its calm in this situation? Because it is already surrounded by a ring of fire. God forbid, if Turkey were to intervene, Iran would be completely destroyed, but Turkey, Azerbaijan, and neighboring countries would also suffer great damage and losses. Because, as I always say, there is never a winner in war. And as a nation, we have always been proponents of peace.

Turkey will maintain its calm and composure. This is our wish. But in one way or another, the Turkish state and the Turkish nation will hold Iran accountable for these attacks, and when the time comes, the issue will certainly be addressed, whether diplomatically, politically, or militarily. As a nation and a state, we are such that we write things down, and one day we will certainly raise the issue we have written down and demand accountability. But if Turkey were to react suddenly to this, a Third World War would truly begin. A Third World War would cause great harm to all humanity, especially to Iran. At that time, Iran would become a country that suffered very serious blows in the pages of history due to its own mistakes.

Today's attack on Turkey is entirely 100% Iran's fault. This cannot be attributed to Israel, the US, or any other third country. Although a NATO member, a country like Turkey has always stood by its neighbor Iran as a peace-loving and mediating partner, always trying to prevent such attacks against it. When Israel first attacked a civilian area, a school, Turkey was the most affected. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reacted to the issue in the most effective way. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and other high-ranking officials also approached the issue in the same way. While many countries remained silent, Turkey reacted openly and harshly. Similarly, Turkey reacted very seriously and harshly to the assassination of Supreme Leader Khamenei and many other officials. And perhaps the first leader in the world to offer condolences was the leader of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan."
